Inside Art is an arts program developed by local artist, Tessa D’Agostino, which encourages self exploration. Through the art process students not only learn a variety of art skills, but are also taught to analyze their work through artistic and self reflection.
Inside Art now offers a visual arts program at the Hyannis Harbor Arts Center at the Guyer Barn. This program has been specifically designed for people living with developmental, emotional, physical, and mental disabilities. Students will learn skills in painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, sculpture, stress relief through art and more!!! All classes encourage self expression and creative individuality. Students will be encouraged to pursue their personal/creative interests. Instructor, Tessa D’Agostino, has a passion for teaching the arts to people living with different life challenges and has taught therapeutic and expressive arts classes for years. The idea that there is no substitute for painting from direct observation leads to the continued study and practice of still life. Still life will be used in the workshop to develop and improve the student’s personal approach while implementing the fundamentals of design and he general techniques for painting what you see. Workshop participants will bring their own supplies and should contact the teacher for suggestions upon registration.

James Wolf teaches a watercolor abstract expressionist class once a month at the Hyannis Harbor Art Center. The 5 hour workshop focuses on 3 basic elements in painting: Composition, Color Mixing and Brush Control, from beginner to advanced levels. Paper is supplied, bring brushes and paint.

Figure Drawing and Painting for Teens

Tuesdays, 4:00pm -6:00 pm, starting September 27th
$155 for eight weeks
In this course, students will learn the basics of figure drawing, compositions, value, line, etc. Starting in charcoal, students will have the opportunity to explore different mediums as well as their own personal style. There will be group critiques, individual instruction and demos. Drawings from observation are essential for college portfolios, and this is a great class for students preparing for college. No experience necessary.
